GUSSET

’gə-sət (n)

1: a small, triangular piece of material inserted into a shirt, bag, shoe, JEAN, etc., used to improve the fit or to provide expansion or reinforcement with the purpose of strengthening some part or area.

*In sewing, a gusset is a triangular or rhomboidal piece of fabric inserted into a seam to add breadth or reduce stress in clothing. Gussets are used at the shoulders, underarms, and hems of traditional shirts as well as the crotch seam in pants and jeans.
The meaning of gusset has expanded beyond fabric, broadly to denote an added patch of joining material that provides structural support to add strength and rigidity.

Freedom To Move

Our Unique Gusset allows stress to be redistributed around the crotch area, allowing for greater freedom of movement, comfort, and strength.

Diamond Gusset Brand Jeans are different because of the unique gusset sewn into the crotch.

The original gusseted construction incorporates a “delta” shaped piece of material sewn into the crotch of the jean. This allows stress to be redistributed around the crotch area, allowing greater freedom of movement, comfort and strength. As an added benefit, the original set-turn-and-topstitch construction is stronger and less thick. The result is 3 ply leg seams, and only 9 ply thick at the crotch, not 16 ply as in standard jeans construction.
